1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use Runtogether, and information from device permissions or third-party services you choose to connect.
- Account information: name, email address, authentication provider, profile settings, timezone, units, and account identifiers.
- Fitness and activity information: goals, plans, runs, distances, pace, workout status, steps, calories, hydration, weight entries, activity summaries, points, quests, and progress.
- Health data: Apple Health step count and related activity data when you grant Health permission. Runtogether may sync selected step data to provide app and partner progress features.
- Location data: run route, distance, pace, and related run-tracking data when you grant location permission.
- Camera and meal data: meal photos or manual meal details when you use meal logging or camera-based meal analysis.
- Partner and chat data: partner link status, invites, messages, reports, block actions, partner rewards, shared goals, and selected shared progress.
- Purchase data: subscription status, trial status, product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal or expiry information, and purchase-related identifiers from Apple and RevenueCat.
- Device and usage data: device type, app version, diagnostics, analytics events, notification tokens, widget or live activity tokens, and backend logs.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide, operate, secure, personalize, and improve Runtogether. This includes account access, training plans, run tracking, step syncing, partner progress, chat, notifications, widgets, subscription access, support, analytics, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand usage, improve features, and maintain the service.
3. Health and fitness data
Runtogether uses Apple Health data only with your permission. Health data is used for fitness, progress, and partner accountability features. We do not use Apple Health data for advertising or sell Apple Health data.
You can change Apple Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app. If you remove permission, some step sync and progress features may stop working.
4. Location data
When you grant location permission, Runtogether uses location to track runs, route, distance, and pace. Background location may be used only for run tracking or related activity features that continue while the app is not in the foreground.
You can change location permissions in your device settings. Disabling location may limit run tracking and race features.
5. Camera and photos
When you grant camera permission, Runtogether uses the camera to capture meal photos for meal logging and analysis. You can use manual meal entry instead of camera capture where available.
6. Notifications, widgets, and live activities
Runtogether may use notification tokens, widget data, and live activity tokens to send reminders, partner updates, chat alerts, race updates, subscription reminders, and related app notifications. You can manage notification preferences in the app and in device settings.
7. Sharing with your partner
If you connect a partner, selected app information may be visible to that partner, including profile details, goals, progress, activity status, points, rewards, messages, and other partner-related information. You can disconnect or block a partner using app controls where available.
8. Service providers
We use service providers to operate Runtogether. These may include hosting providers, database providers, analytics providers, authentication providers, push notification providers, subscription management providers, and AI or image-processing providers used for app features.
Examples may include Apple, Google, Firebase, Expo, RevenueCat, Railway, OpenAI, and other infrastructure or support providers. These providers process information on our behalf or under their own terms where applicable.
9. Analytics
We may collect analytics events to understand app usage, diagnose issues, measure feature performance, and improve Runtogether. Analytics may include screen views, feature interactions, account status, subscription status, and device or app diagnostics.
10. Legal and safety disclosures
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is needed to protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms, respond to safety issues, or protect the rights and security of Runtogether and others.
11. Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud, support subscriptions, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and purpose.
Backups and logs may persist for a limited period after deletion before being overwritten or removed.
12. Account deletion and privacy rights
You can request account deletion in the app. You may also contact us at support@runtogether.fit to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance.
Depending on your location, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.
Deleting your Runtogether account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Children
Runtogether is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
15. International processing
Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating the effective date, providing in-app notice, or posting the updated policy on this page.
